Bixby Police Blotter and Online Records Request

Bixby has an online open records request form that makes it easy to ask for incident reports without going to the station. The form is at the Bixby Police Department website. Go to police.bixbyok.gov to find it. Fill out the form with the incident date, case number if you have it, and the type of record you need.

You can also request records in person. Drop by the dispatch window at 116 W. Needles Ave, Bixby, OK 74008 during business hours. Bring a valid photo ID. Staff will take your request form and process it from there.

Mail requests go to City of Bixby, Attn: City Clerk, PO Box 70, Bixby, OK 74008. Include a check or money order for any fees due. All fees are due at the time of request, so know the cost before you mail in your payment.

Most records are ready five to seven days after the report is approved. If you need to check on a request, call 918-366-8294. Juvenile records are excluded from release under state law.

Online Report Filing for Minor Incidents

  • Harassing, threatening, or obscene phone calls
  • Larceny of gasoline
  • Lost items or property
  • Other misdemeanor offenses
  • Petit larceny under $500
  • Vandalism

This option saves time for both the public and officers. It means you can report a minor incident without waiting for a patrol car. Check the department website for the link to the electronic reporting form.

Oklahoma Open Records Act and Bixby PD

Oklahoma's Open Records Act covers all local agencies, including the Bixby Police Department. Under Title 51 Section 24A.8, agencies must release most public records when asked. You do not need a reason. A written request with enough detail to find the records is all you need.

Some records are protected. Active investigation files, juvenile data, and certain personal information may be withheld. If a denial happens, the department must explain why in writing. You can appeal the denial. A lawyer or Legal Aid can help if you run into problems.

Tulsa County Jail and Arrest Bookings

When Bixby police make an arrest, the person is booked at the Tulsa County Jail, also known as the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center. The Tulsa County Sheriff operates that facility. Call 918-596-5600 to reach the sheriff's office. The jail holds around 2,020 inmates and is one of the larger county facilities in the state.

Bixby PD generates the initial arrest report. Booking records are then held by the county. Both are public records under Oklahoma law. To look up whether someone is currently in custody in Tulsa County, use the county's online jail search or call the sheriff's office.

For more information on Tulsa County records and resources, see the Tulsa County records page.

Court Records for Bixby Cases

Criminal charges from Bixby arrests are filed in Tulsa County District Court. Court records from those cases are public and searchable on OSCN at oscn.net. Search by name or case number. Docket entries, charges, and outcomes are all there for free.

ODCR at odcr.com is another free tool. It covers additional counties and some records that OSCN may not include. Use both sites if you need to do a thorough search.

Criminal History and VINE Notifications

For a full statewide criminal history report, use CHIRP at chirp.osbi.ok.gov. The cost is $15 per search. Reports include all Oklahoma convictions and charges, not just Bixby or Tulsa County cases. Create an account on the CHIRP site before running a search.

VINE lets you track custody status for someone in the Tulsa County Jail or state prison. Register at vinelink.com or call 877-654-8463. The service is free and available at any time. If an inmate is released or moved, VINE sends you an alert.

For state prison records, search the Oklahoma DOC offender database at okoffender.doc.ok.gov. It shows current location, expected release, and supervision status at no charge.
